Budget Development

PlanCarolina

Introduced in 2023 to streamline UNC-Chapel Hill’s annual operational budget development process, PlanCarolina is a platform that provides a more comprehensive view of the University’s financial allocations. It allows for high-level management and comparison of budgeted amounts with actual expenditures, encompassing all funds within the University.

Future improvements to the PlanCarolina platform are being developed. These include a formalized request and tracking process for central University pool funds, more insights available at unit and departmental levels and more closely linking budget figures with personnel data, enhancing accuracy and support for budgeted amounts.
